Details: Join the MUSIC MAKES ME HAPPY Chorus in exploring Concord's role in the Abolition era and the Underground Railroad. Sing the spirituals that guided enslaved people to freedom and hear stories of brave Concordians like the Thoreau and Alcott families. Songs include: Go Down, Moses; Follow the Drinking Gourd; Swing Low; Swing Chariot; others.
Guest Speaker: Richard Smith has worked in Concord as a public historian and Living History Interpreter for 25 years and has portrayed Henry Thoreau at Walden Pond, around the country, and in Canada. He has written/edited 11 books and is a regular contributor to DISCOVER CONCORD.
