Details: Cathedral Organ Celebrates 149 Years – Fundraising Concert: February 23, 2025 at 3 p.m.BOSTON — The Cathedral of the Holy Cross celebrates 149 years since the dedication of its principal organ, the 101-rank E. & G. G. Hook & Hastings opus 801, on February 23, 1876.
To honor the instrument’s birthday, several of New England's notable organists will perform variety of works by on the historic pipe organ of 5,298 pipes.
Performers include
• Leo Abbott, Cathedral Director Emeritus,
• Eric Anderson, Visitation Parish, Manchester by the Sea and Essex
• James Kenerley, International Performing Artist
• Kevin Lyczak, Saint Adelaide Parish, Peabody
• Rosalind Mohnsen, Immaculate Conception Parish, Malden
• Anthony Clark, Choral Scholar, Saint Paul's Cambridge
• Richard J. Clark, Director of Music of the Cathedral of the Holy Cross
Including works by Vierne, Demessieux, Gounod, Mendelssohn, Kennerley, Clark, & Clark
Suggested Donation is $25 | $15 for Seniors and Students available online here and at the door.
