Details: All are invited to a musical workshop organized by the Boston Chapter of the AGO (American Guild of Organists) on Saturday, October 24 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of the Advent. In this Lecture-Recital presented by William Harris, Everett Titcomb's legacy will be explored through live choral and organ music, historical recordings and a panel discussion moderated by Jonathan Ambrosino including Mark Dwyer and Frederick MacArthur, organist, choral director, and student of Titcomb. The workshop is open to the public, free of charge; coffee, tea, and donuts will be provided.

Everett Titcomb (1884-1968) occupies a unique place in the history of the music of the Episcopal Church and the wider Anglican Communion. Far less well known and studied than his colleagues Healey Willan and Francis Burgess, his work with the monks of the Society of St. John the Evangelist at their mission church in Boston’s West End and his tireless devotion to his students and to the repertoire of Gregorian Chant and Renaissance polyphony at a time when very few choirmasters were exploring the liturgical application of this literature has left a rich heritage not only among church musicians in Boston, but in the Anglican Communion at large.
