Details: Assabet Valley Mastersingers will celebrate its 40th Anniversary in a concert on Sunday, May 6th at 3:30 pm at Jay Performing Arts Center, St. John’s High School, 378 Main St. in Shrewsbury. The widely treasured Requiem in d of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart will be the featured attraction, chosen in part due to its prominent presence in the first concert given by Assabet Valley Mastersingers in May of 1978. Also included in the program for the 40th will be A Song for St. Cecilia’s Day, composed in 1998 by Clifton J. Noble as commissioned by AVM.The Mastersingers chorus of approximately 75 members will be joined by vocal soloists soprano Andrea Ehrenreich, mezzo Pamela Dellal, tenor Matthew Anderson, and baritone John Salvi with orchestra under the direction of AVM Founder and Artistic Director Robert P. Eaton.
