Mezzo-soprano Carrie Cheron joins Très Maresienne (Lisa Brooke, violin; Carol Lewis, viola da gamba; Olav Chris Henriksen, vihuela and Baroque guitar) for a concert of songs, variations, fantasias and dances by Ortiz, Cabezón, Milan, Selma, Durón, Sanz, Murcia and Hidalgo. There will be instrumental solos, duos & trios, and several very different settings of “Folias” (“the madness”), and one “Jacaras” (“dance of the ruffian”), as well as a beautiful, lyrical romance, and a lively tono humano by Sebastián Durón.
