Duruflé Masterworks: Messe 'Cum jubilo' and Requiem
The Parish of All Saints - Ashmont, 209 Ashmont Street
Cost: Free
Performing: Peabody Square Choral Artists

Maurice Duruflé (1902-1895) destroyed many of his own compositions because they did not meet his standards. As a result, Duruflé left us with only two large choral works: the Messe ‘Cum jubilo’ and the Requiem. Both works are masterfully crafted, combining Gregorian Chant and 20th century harmony seamlessly into emotionally complex and engaging works of art. Peabody Square Choral Artists presents this concert free of charge at the Parish of All Saints, Ashmont. This concert is conducted by Michael Raleigh and features the skillful and talented organists Andrew Sheranian and Ross Wood.
