In this service, part of the 2019 Albert Schweitzer Organ Festival Hartford, hear the organ in its liturgical form with the Festival Choir, with choral music from the English cathedral tradition by Radcliffe, Stanford, and Gardiner. The Chapel Singers of Trinity College join with the choirs of St James's Episcopal Church, and St John's Episcopal Church (both in W. Hartford) led by choirmasters Vaughn Mauren and Scott Lamlein. Organist is Benjamin Straley, former Organist of Washington National Cathedral. An Evensong reflection will be offered by The Rev. Dr. Sidnie White Crawford, Trinity College '81, Willa Cather Professor of Hebrew Bible and Second Temple Judaism Emerita, University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Following the service, enjoy the final phase of the A Young Professional Competition, as three finalists compete for the $2,500 David Spicer Hymn Playing Award.
