St. John's Choir, directed by Buffy Gray with guest organist Andrew Sheranian, will present a beautiful service of lessons and carols for Advent. Cambridge composer James Woodman's gorgeous piece The Midwife's Tale, one of Seraphim’s favorites, will be featured along with the popular work Christmas Cantata by Daniel Pinkham. Experience the peace and blessings of Christmas in a heavenly way just days before the 25th.
*Note that the 7:30 pm concert on Sunday will be without brass and the Pinkham work will not be included. Other works will be substituted.

Join the MUSIC MAKES ME HAPPY Chorus in exploring Concord's role in the Abolition era and the Underground Railroad. Sing the spirituals that guided enslaved people to freedom and hear stories of brave Concordians like the Thoreau and Alcott families. Songs include: Go Down, Moses; Follow the Drinking Gourd; Swing Low; Swing Chariot; others.
Guest Speaker: Richard Smith has worked in Concord as a public historian and Living History Interpreter for 25 years and has portrayed Henry Thoreau at Walden Pond, around the country, and in Canada. He has written/edited 11 books and is a regular contributor to DISCOVER CONCORD.

Cathedral Organ Celebrates 149 Years – Fundraising Concert: February 23, 2025 at 3 p.m.BOSTON — The Cathedral of the Holy Cross celebrates 149 years since the dedication of its principal organ, the 101-rank E. & G. G. Hook & Hastings opus 801, on February 23, 1876.
To honor the instrument’s birthday, several of New England's notable organists will perform variety of works by on the historic pipe organ of 5,298 pipes.
