Seraphim’s March 2 & 3 program will explore JOY in its many colors and depths in works of J.S. Bach, Coleridge-Taylor, Mendelssohn, Biebl, Duruflé, Parry, a new commission by Trevor Weston, and more. We have been through many challenges in recent years, with more to come. Yet JOY resurfaces from consolation growing into hope. Join us to CELEBRATE the JOY that sometimes emerges without reason, and in spite of reasons, that JOY is irrepressible and unmistakably human. We will present the composer of our featured commission, Trevor Weston, along with the lyricist Angelo Geter in a pre-concert forum at 7:30 pm on March 2. During the concert Geter will recite his poem "Praise" prior to performance of the new piece, which Dr. Weston has entitled "Lauda." We encourage you to take advantage of the plentiful parking available at the venue in West Roxbury and the opportunity to greet our honored guests following the concert. The concert will be repeated on March 3 at 3 PM at First Church in Cambridge, 11 Garden St. Jennifer Lester, music director Heinrich Christensen, organ Stephan Griffin, baritone soloist Paul Mattal and Stephanie Wingfield, cello
