Details: What is a toccata? It’s known as a musical composition for a keyboard instrument designed to exhibit the performer’s touch and technique. This wonderfully loose definition has inspired composers to “touch the organ” and create the compositions represented in this historical survey of organ works from the Renaissance to the modern era. Wrap up your Thanksgiving weekend, as organist Heinrich Christensen performs on King’s Chapel renowned C.B. Fisk organ in the historic, 18th-century sanctuary. This one-hour program includes works by Bach, Bélier, Bernstein, Dubois, Frescobaldi, Muffat, Pachelbel, Pinkham, Sark, Shlominski, Sweelinck, Vierne, Widor, and Woodman.
